🔥Burnout Has Levels. Let’s Talk About It.

Have you ever said “I’m fine” when your body’s clearly telling you otherwise?

Same. Burnout doesn’t show up all at once. It creeps in. It builds. And before you know it, you’re running on fumes and wondering when you stopped feeling like yourself.

Whether you're a therapist, a mom, a care provider, or someone who’s just doing the most — this is for you. Let’s talk about the five stages of burnout, how to recognize them, and how to stop normalizing survival mode.

✦Stage 1: The Honeymoon Phase

You’re motivated. Focused. You got plans and you're grinding. New job, new role, new responsibilities — and you’re doing it all.
You feel like you got this... so you keep saying yes.
The signs are there, but you ignore them.
That constant tired? That’s not normal.

✦Stage 2: Onset of Stress

You’re snappy. You’re not sleeping right.
Little things are starting to get under your skin.
You might brush it off like, “I just need a day off”... but deep down, you know it’s more than that.
Your nervous system is working overtime.

✦Stage 3: Chronic Stress

This is when everything starts feeling heavy.
You’re exhausted but can’t rest. You're showing up, but you're disconnected.
You start resenting the people and responsibilities that used to give you purpose.
Sis, your body is waving red flags and you're still pushing.

✦Stage 4: Burnout

Now you’re numb. Or anxious. Or both.
You’re still trying, but the joy is gone.
You can’t focus. You don’t feel like yourself. And you’re too tired to explain it to anybody.
This isn’t laziness — this is your body trying to survive.

✦Stage 5: Habitual Burnout

This is when burnout becomes your baseline. You wake up tired. You go to sleep tired.
You stop expecting things to get better. You start saying, “this is just how it is.”
But deep down, you know it’s not supposed to feel like this.
You’re not broken. You’re burnt out.

🎯So What Now?

The first step is being real with yourself.
A lot of us have learned to normalize suffering — to carry it quietly, to wear it like strength. But you don’t have to keep holding it all.

This is your reminder: you deserve support that doesn’t make you feel like a problem to be fixed.
